Hobson Industries is a private company established in 1987 who specialises in restoring Land Rovers aged twenty years and above. They target Fleet owners, small trade organisations, consumers and the Military. Hobsons is one of only a few companies which is an approved Land Rover Parts Distributor.

Hobsons approached Small Giants to create a fully Search Engine Optimised website and brand that will form a business eco-system to increase sales, and that will renew and strengthen their brand presence in a complex and unique market.

Business Needs

The new website will fulfil the following business needs:

  • To combine three separate websites into one
  • To increase online and offline sales
  • To improve Hobsons Google rankings from page seven to the first five listed
  • To clearly differentiate Hobsons business and create a uniqueness around their service offerings/products
  • To provide clarity over Hobsons target audiences and make it transparent who they are speaking to
  • To ensure all content is relentlessly relevant to specific target audiences
  • To create a renewed strength of brand synonymous with quality over price
  • To help establish Hobsons as the ‘go-to’ business, aside from Land Rover, for restoration and distribution
  • To be an extendable web platform, allowing for new features to be added as required
  • To provide a content management system that will enable Hobsons to efficiently manage all content on the site and reduce administration costs


Target Audience Needs

The target audiences for Hobsons are Fleet owners, trade, consumers, and Military (MOD). These audiences are diverse and as such have varying degrees of needs and different challenges. It is crucial that there is clarity on the website that these sets of customers are all served, and that all content is relevant to their needs and desires.

The new website must help the target audiences to:

  • Clearly understand the benefits of Hobsons products and services and how they will solve their particular problems
  • Understand the outstanding quality that Hobsons offers and why that’s unique to them
  • Make buying easy and encourage them to purchase with minimal intervention

Ultimately, the Hobsons website should be a useful resource for existing customers/clients, prospective customers/clients and most importantly become a platform that persuades leads and prospects to do business with Hobsons, over a perceived competitor.


An entirely new website is required that combines the three separate Hobsons websites into one. The website will be built from the ground up, with a custom design, and relevant, engaging content that represents Hobsons differentiators and presents them as the go-to business for Land Rover restoration. The aim will be to convey the quality aspect of Hobsons over price led messaging to its target markets while streamlining any operations possible.

The new website will be designed to:

  • Be relentlessly relevant to target audiences and convey the benefits of Hobsons products/services
  • Allow existing and new customers to buy quickly and easily
  • Be a business eco-system platform that allows Hobsons to learn about their customers and adapt business strategy as a result
  • Enable Hobsons to publish content based around topics vital to industry growth

Additionally, the following "behind the scenes" features will be built into the website:

  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
  • Google analytics performance reporting
  • Seven free listings on UK business and consumer directories

Payment Terms:

To commence a project we ask for 50% up-front, 30% after the design stage is signed-off and the remaining 20% once the site is ready to launch.
